Our cleaning process, step by step

We take great pride in our cleaning process, and treat every job with the expert care you’d expect from Fibrecare.

Step 1: Pre-Inspection

Every great carpet cleaning starts with a proper pre-inspection. Our service technician will inspect your particular areas of concern as well as noting carpet construction, and soiling conditions. He will also advise you of any possible permanent staining.

Step 2: Pre-Vacuum

If needed, your carpet will be pre vacuumed to remove dry soil. This is in addition to the vacuum that takes place throughout the entire cleaning process.

Step 3: Furniture Moving

Sofas, chairs and tables will be carefully moved. Larger pieces such as; beds, dressers, entertainment centres, china cabinets and other liability prone items are left in place under our regular pricing structure. Furniture will be protected with disposable blocks and coasters as needed.

Step 4: Pre-Condition & Pre-Spot Treatment

Traffic areas and spots are pre-treated for more effective soil and spot removal.

Step 5: Pre-Groom and Agitate

Your carpet will be pre-groomed with a carpet groomer (depends on the soil level) to further loosen traffic area soiling.

Step 6: Extract & Rinse

Once the soil has been loosened, our state-of-the-art hot water extraction process will thoroughly rinse the carpet pile. Pressure and heat are regulated so that carpet is not over-wet. We rinse with special rinse that has been specially Formulated by Fibrecare to remove all Soiling, detergents and leave your carpets conditioned and bactericide. This step also improves your air quality by removing the pollens, pollutants, and dust mites, etc. from the carpet.

Step 7: Neutralize

Every carpet that we clean is rinsed with a PH balanced product so that there is never a sticky residue left behind. (This is a very important step that is often overlooked by other cleaners).

Step 8: Post Spot Treatment

If any spots are not removed during the cleaning process, speciality spotting techniques are employed after a through cleaning. Note: This excludes permanent stains that are identified by our service technician in the pre-inspection.

Step 9: Fibrecare’s Dupont Carpet Protection (optional but recommended)

Carpets protected with Dupont Teflon last longer, clean up easier and stay clean longer.

Step 10: Speed Dry (optional extra)

High velocity air movers will be placed in the room to speed dry the carpet.

(When needed)

Step 11: Post Grooming

The carpet pile is set in up position for faster drying and a better visual appeal when Dupont Teflon has been applied.

Step 12: Post Inspection

Please walk through your home or business using the plastic booties we provide to inspect our work. And to let us know that you are pleased. We now ask that you sign our service invoice.

Arrange for pets and children to be away from the area that we are cleaning, and away from all equipment, hoses, etc.

After Your Carpeting Is Cleaned…

Today we had the opportunity to clean your carpets and upholstery. We appreciate your business and in order for you to retain the best appearance of your soft furnishings here are some helpful hints:

1. Circulate the air to speed up drying time. Open a window to let in some fresh air, for as long as security dictates.

2. Do not walk on freshly cleaned carpets for at least 4 hours or more until dry to touch.

3. Do not allow children or pets to crawl or walk on cleaned carpets for at least 8 to 12 hours – preferably longer or until carpet is thoroughly dry.

4. Do not remove foil pads or polystyrene blocks from under legs / corners of furniture until carpet is absolutely dry.

5. Turn cushions at regular intervals to aid even drying.

6. Vacuum after carpet is dry and then on a regular basis.

7. Future spills should be absorbed as much as possible to reduce the risk of permanent damage.

8. Take care when stepping from damp carpets to tiled or polished floor, as you will now make the surface slippery.

9. A dryer is available for hire if deemed necessary.

We trust the suggestions will keep your soft furnishings looking clean and fresh for a long time.
